Although I know some of you will think I'm crazy but I am considering getting married again. My girlfriend and I are both non practicing Roman Catholics but would like to get married in a church ceremony. Through the grapevine Ive heard horror stories about fees that sound like extortion. If anyone has any personal experiences or info about the process please post
Fees and time frame
My brother obtained one about three years ago and was charged 1800 dollars. The process took about a year but in some cases can be longer.

Ugh! Not sure if you're on the right site to get sympathy for that way of thinking. I know that religious pull is strong, but if all your experience so far causes you to shy away from it, maybe you need to listen to those instincts. Not only on the marriage plan, but even in dealing with the church. I think you're right about the extortion thing, I think that sort of practice is reserved for the Kennedy clan.
