Have to give McCain some credit for selecting a hot looking woman for the V.P.job. The Democrats better watch out after a year and a half of having to stare at Hillary's face I think alot of men in this country will be more than willing to vote for a smart good looking woman whose a fiscal conservative. Palin a one time runner up in the Miss Alaska contest is also a hunter and mother of five children. She has an 80% approval rating in her state. Seems at first glance to be a good choice.
Prego daughter
Everything might not be so rosy in McCain land. Palin's seventeen tear old daughter is pregnant which could be a bit embarrassing for the party of moral values. Dem operatives are out in full force, I saw one on FOX last night calling Palin and unfit mother who has no business running for any office let alone the VP. Don't be naive enough to think this won't be a major issue. Initially both parties will say it is a private family matter but in reality it will be brought up at every opportunity. Palin may turn into Eagleton if so McCain is finished.
VP Palin
This is going to be one of the dirtiest elections ts country has ever seen. The Democrats are going to tear this woman's family and personal life apart while exploiting and sensationalizing every issue. I feel sorry for them because when this is over the Palins will be scarred for life.
Palin speech
Palin gave a great speech at the convention making it clear she won't allow the media to bully her around or exploit her families personal issues. Funny how the Democrats machine is now insinuating that she is too ambitious and should be more concerned with her family. All of a sudden being a strong independent woman is not in vogue and should be shunned. I hope Palin continues to stand up to these phonies and makes them eat crow in November.
Nothing like the hypocrisy in
Nothing like the hypocrisy in politics. Not sure who I’m voting for yet, but when I hear the arguments against Sara Palin, I have to shake my head. They say she’s inexperienced, but yet the other side puts up a candidate at the top of the ticket that has less experience then her. At least she’s holding down the number 2 spot, so she can get some experience if she has to take the reigns. If Obama wins, he’s at the head of the ticket, and it will be on the job training. They also are attacking her, saying she should be home raising her family. Incredible that we hear that sort of thing in this day in age. You never hear that said about a male politician, even when he has family problems of his own. She is no different than any working mother today, except her job is more high powered. Like I say, not sure who will get my vote yet, but some of these comments by the media really insult our intelligence.
Obama's experience
Just read an article in which Obama claims to have more experience than Palin (he does not mention McCain) basing his claim on the fact that he managed an election team that consisted of more than 20,000 "workers". Incredible that the person who could be the next president of the United States lists managing his own election team as the primary qualification for the most important job in the world. Palin was a mayor and governor of a state with an 11 billion dollar budget. She is a true reformer who went against the incumbent from her own party and won. Funny how Obama compares himself to Palin but does not even mention McCain. Obama is a product no different than a Barbie doll, he has no substance but looks pretty in a package. America better wake up fast or when all is said and done Jimmy Carter will look like a genius compared to this guy.
Rasmussen
Latest Rasmussen poll surveyed 500 likely voters in each of the following states Virginia, Pennsylvania, Ohio and Florida. When questioned on who they were likely to vote for results are
Virginia - McCaine 49 Obama 47
Penn. - McCaine 45 Obama 47
Ohio - McCaine 48 Obama 48
Fla. - McCaine 46 Obama 49
Crazy thing is that when questioned on who they trust McCaine won by at least 4 points in each state. When questioned who they would want advise from when faced with the biggest decision of their lives McCaine wins by an even bigger margin again in every state.
Makes you wonder what people use as the final criteria when selecting a candidate. Here we have a guy in McCaine who people trust more and have a higher opinion of his judgment yet when asked who they would vote for the election is neck and neck.
I'm no prognosticator, but if
I'm no prognosticator, but if recent history holds true, Ohio and Florida are the key. Bush won the past 2 elections, and those states brought him over the top. This country is so split now between red and blue states it's pretty sad. Interetsting that states that used to be solidly in either camp are now up for grabs. Penn was blue the past 4 elections, but now it's tight. Virginia was red, but also close now. If any one state bucks the trend, it will swing the election to the candidate who brings that state over to his camp. But if several swing states flip, who know's how things will end up? On one hand it's entertaining, but on the other hand, the stakes are awfully high here. Hope people really think hard when they vote.
Lipstick on a Pig
I'm no fan of Obama but I don't believe for a minute he would have been stupid enough to purposely use that expression to describe Palin. He made an incredibly stupid analogy using the word lipstick when she used it in her acceptance speech last week but I don't think it was done to purposely attack her. For the first time in this election Obama's feeling the heat and I think he is starting to sweat. McCain choice of Palin caught the Dems completely off-guard and they don't seem to know how to react. As was stated in an earlier post this thing is going to get really ugly. We've seen some distasteful stuff come out in past elections but this one will top them all. Hold onto your hats because we ain't seen nothing yet.
Palin is definitely a
Palin is definitely a V.I.L.F. She’s also a good choice for the GOP, since her selection caught the opposition by surprise, stands for everything the Dems hate, and is someone they have a hard time attacking without looking foolish. I think she’s going to hit the campaign trail hard…as soon as hunting season is over.
Palin makes me afraid
Obama made a blunder by not choosing Hillary. If he had Palin would still be in Alaska and the Republicans would be finished. Although I don't agree with McCaine on most issues I have to give him credit for choosing Palin as it has re energized the GOP. In my opinion her politics are way to far to the right to appeal to most Americans. That said having a woman on the ticket has definitely been a boost to McCaine, prior to choosing her he was going nowhere in the polls but down. McCaine seems like a nice man whose patriotism is beyond approach but as the mother of two preteen girls I think he is to old and out of touch to deal with the problems that we as a country are now facing. We need a someone who has a view of the future and can inspire people to think not just for themselves but for the good of everyone. I know Obama has alot of issues: inexperience, questionable associations and a wife who just needs to keep her mouth shut but I believe he is more in synch with the average person. Amazing in a country of almost 300 million people these candidates are the best we have to offer.
